Greene County district court, week ending July 17

In Greene County district court Virginia Lois Henry, 52, of Saucier, MS, was sentenced to one year in jail after changing her plea to guilty to a charge of operating while intoxicated. All but four days of the jail term was suspended and she was placed on probation to Boone/Greene County Probation for one year. She may complete the 48-hour Des Moines Area Community College drinking drivers course in lieu of two days of the jail time. She must complete a drinking drivers course at her own expense and she must also undergo a substance abuse evaluation and complete any recommended treatment at her own expense. She was fined $1,250 with a $187.50 surcharge; one-half will be waived if she obtains a temporary restricted license. Henry was sentenced to 180 days in jail on a charge of possession of marijuana- second offense. The jail term is concurrent to the term on the OWI charge; the term was suspended. She was fined $430 with a $64.50 surcharge; both were suspended. Court costs were $100. (Sentencing: Honorable Joseph B. McCarville)

Brian Duane Schyumacher, 62 of Lohrville, was sentenced to 180 days in jail with credit for time served after changing his plea to guilty to a charge of operating while intoxicated. All but two days of the jail term was suspended and he was placed on probation to Boone/Greene County Probation for one year. He may complete the 48-hour Des Moines Area Community College drinking drivers course in lieu of the jail time. He must complete a drinking drivers course at his own expense and he must also undergo a substance abuse evaluation and complete any recommended treatment at his own expense. Brandy Lee Zinn 35, of Duncombe was sentenced to 10 days in jail with credit for time served after she changed her plea to guilty to a charge of driving while license barred. She may serve the jail sentenced in two increments. She was fined $855 with a $128.25 surcharge; both were suspended. She must pay an amount not to exceed $400 restitution for her court appointed attorney’s fees and $100 court costs. (Sentencing: McCarville)

A charge of possession of marijuana against Mikaela Anella Yonemura, 23, of Des Moines was dismissed without court costs. She pleaded guilty in magistrate court of possession of drug paraphernalia. She was fined $105 with a $15.75 surcharge. Court costs were $60. (Sentencing: McCarville)

William Dale Chaney, 22, of Jefferson was sentenced to 30 days in jail with credit for time served after he pleaded guilty at arraignment to a charge of assault causing bodily injury or mental illness. All but two days of the jail term was suspended and he was placed on probation to Boone/Greene County Probation for one year. He was fined $430 with a $64.50 surcharge. He must pay victim restitution (if any), $400 restitution for his court appointed attorney’s fees, and $100 court costs. (Sentencing: McCarville)

Persons pleaded not guilty at arraignment as follows: Justin Allen Williams, 47, of Adel, driving while license barred; Brianna Lee Bacon, 31, of Badger, driving while license revoked; Larry Lee Rix, 31, of Scranton, theft- fourth degree; and Daniel David Holinksi, 26, of Jefferson, operating while intoxicated. A trial date was set for Aug. 25 for Rix, and for Sept. 29 for Williams, Bacon, and Holinski.

Cases were initiated in district court as follows: Jonathan Ray Wittrock, 53, of Carroll, possession of methamphetamine- second offense; Kevin Joe Peterson, 61. of Pahrump, NV, possession of marijuana-third offense; Tiffany Julin, 40, of Jefferson, forgery and identity theft less than $1,500; and Shaun Harold Warnke, 47, of Scranton, driving while license barred.
